Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a blue girl. If I'm out shopping, I immediately gravitate towards all things blue (patterned, printed, solid). My children roll their eyes anytime I stop to look at something blue, with a quick roll of their eyes and an under-the-breath utterance of "of course you'd stop for that!" I wasn't always open about being a blue girl....

Long before the mid century modern movement began (centuries before actually), one of the worlds greatest minds, Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.” We wonder, would he be awed by the blending of sleek lines and the elegance of organic shapes found in mid century modern designs of this era?

Rooms so jam-packed with things from furniture to trash, that the owners must climb above the debris to get to the next room and sleep on weeks-old food covering their beds. These are the homes that horror stories are written about. Or are they?

So much has been written about Rodin — his life, his works, his philosophy. Sure his talent is on display at museums worldwide, but rarely does the opportunity to actually own an authentic Rodin work of art come to the public. That is about to change when his Buste de Saint Jean-Baptiste, Gruet Aine Fondeur, Paris cast bronze sculpture hits the auction block in the Exceptional Fall Greenwich auction at BRG.

When most people think of BRG, they envision highly decorative furnishings, art, and antiques. But there’s so much more to our offerings, as is the case with our Single Owner Couture Collection. As part of our day-to-day estate work, we come across clients that have modestly sized couture collections, but this collection would make even the most hardened "Carrie Bradshaw types" swoon.

We kicked it into "high gear" to create a fun lounge for our VIP guests at this year's A Taste of Fairfield. The event was last Sunday, so when our team finalized the selection of merchandise to feature in the Fusion VIP Lounge sponsored by Black Rock Galleries we decided to go with a mid-century modern feel -- of course rounded out with some other pieces that exemplify ....

If you are a Fairfield County local it is possible that you have already heard radio spots promoting the upcoming Taste of Fairfield event taking place on Sunday, October 8th at the Delamar Southport.  You may have even heard "Black Rock Galleries" mentioned a time or two.  Well, we are delighted to once again be a part of this fun
