This unique and interesting estate showcases their lifelong aggregation of furniture, art, decorative arts and more -- all hailing from the innumerable domestic and international locales visited and lived-in by the couple during the course of their lives. Their beautifully kept home in Fearrington Village of Pittsboro, NC holds an eclectic treasure trove for bidders of every style, taste, and budget. If these items could only talk! ABOUT THE COUPLE: In the post World War II and Cold War eras, Ronald and Elizabeth Sher shared successful careers inside the U.S. Department of State. Elizabeth was a retired Foreign Service Staff Officer and Ronald was a U.S. Navy veteran (enlisting at the age of 17) and retired foreign service officer for the USIA (U.S. Information Agency). Both spent their lifelong careers dealing with diplomats and dignitaries around the world in various former Soviet Union "Iron Curtain" countries like Russia and Yugoslavia, as well as China, Southeast Asia, Togo, Senegal, Germany and beyond. In fact, between the pair, they explored and visited over 55 countries. After their retirements from government service, the couple continued to serve their community's charities and organizations in philanthropic and volunteer capacities.
