BRG is pleased to offer the contents of this adorable converted church-to-cottage estate in what was once known as “Tucker Hill” in Stamford. This collection features a nice array of antiques and Americana touches from its furnishings to decorative accessories, all of which have been lovingly cared for and passed down through three generations of the Laurent family.
Several of the lots in this auction have known provenance and were passed down from the estate of Robert Laurent (1890-1970) to his son, Paul. Robert was a noted sculptor and respected French-born American artist, as well as a collector of American folk and early 20th century art. Yet another handful of lots hail from the estate of the American modernist artist, lifelong friend, and mentor of Robert, Hamilton Easter Field (1873-1922); who bequeathed his estate to Robert Laurent decades ago.
