BRG'S ESTATE COLLECTION I SPY
Who says only children can enjoy a good ‘I spy’ game? Certainly not Black Rock Galleries. We thought it might be fun to present this estate collection in a new fashion.
In the BRG estate version of I Spy, we take a look at a June 1982 edition of House in the Hamptons magazine article featuring the fabulous Bridgehampton, NY home of Jay Paul.
Can you I Spy your way through The Estate Collection of Jay Paul which closes on October 5? What you can spy with your grown-up eye?

In the Dining Room
I spy with my grown-up eye…
A faux finish table with 8 dining chairs,
Silverware services in numerous pairs,
A marble countertop from the louvered buffet,
All upon a rug a mile from the bay,
A vintage brass coal scuttle with lion head handles,
A vintage epergne and stands for candles,
A red-crested Rosenthal blue bird ready to nest,
Various dishes to complement the rest,
… And pretty glassware for dinner parties – all blacktie.

In the Foyer
I spy with my grown-up eye…
An Andre Saturne flowering tree so bright,
A vintage Jay Yang design in blue, gold, red, and white,
A decorative Japanese dish that’s very pretty,
A fun wooden end table – not so itty bitty,
An Anatole Cypriot painting of a celebratory march,
A Chinese polychrome deity figure before the arch,
A carved sculpted rider upon his mighty steed,
An ebonized mirror reflecting all he’d see,
Black gondola chairs peek in from the room beyond,
A Chinese bulbous brass vase for flower and frond,
… And antique oil-lamp swan sconces to light nearby.

A tall Hatian carved wood sculpture guarding the door,
Near paint decorated bamboo form stools x4,
The ‘guard’ sits upon his marble pedestal perch,
Near Gabriel Bien-Aime’s metal sea creatures, if you search,
Two Louis XVI style brass tack-trimmed settees,
A large chimney glass shade with eagle etched neatly,
A glass cocktail table of faux bamboo in gold,
With vintage decorative curiosities – to display or hold,
… And vintage embossed metal plates to make you sigh.

I spy with my grown-up eye…
A wrought iron sculptural crane that stands so tall,
Janvier Louis Juste sheet metal art upon the wall,
A pair of Regency style sofas with animal print gondola chairs,
Some decorative candlesticks x2 pairs,
Monumental MCM lamps with giant black shades,
Royal Crown Derby Imari dishes elegantly displayed.
A vintage vinyl record collection sounds so good,

I spy with my grown-up eye…
