Assortment of WWI and WWII militaria. Includes:
English model WWI gas mask with a desaturated green exterior, orange circular lenses, and snorkel mouthpiece leading to a ribbed yellow respirator with canvas carrying case, container of anti-dimming composition, and instruction envelope. The mask is stamped 16 IXF292 on the side and 3 WIDE 143T on the top.. The respirator is marked 156XH on the top. The interior flap of the canvas bag is labeled 367443X. The exterior of the canvas bag is labeled "Pvt D.G. Baillie Jr.
A foldable intrenching tool with a gray-painted wooden handle, kept in a green canvas satchel stamped "US."
A pair of canvas pouches. The smaller is shaped like an envelope and marked "US" on one side, H. Jacob & Sons, Inc. 1942" on the other. The larger features three buttoned pouches on a belt strip, with the center pocket's flap interior labeled "David G. Baillie Jr. Headquarters Detachment 115th Engineers USA"
Accessories including a spent casing and a Scorcher British strop no. B241.
Verbal Provenance: David G. Baillie Jr. (American, 1894-1971) served in WWI in the 115 Engineers Corp.
Condition: Pieces display well with expected wear commensurate with age. Scratches, discoloration, rust, and thread wear. The gas mask's black interior lining is flaking and makes the mask difficult to fully stretch out.
