Item Description
The WWI field jacket of David G. Baillie Jr. (American, 1894-1971) in olive green wool with a brown cotton lining, featuring four exterior pockets and one interior pocket. A tag at the top labeled "COAT, size 38" with the name "Baillie" handwritten below. A tag on the interior of the lining reads "Phila. Depot GMC USA; A.B. Kirschbaum Co. Phila,; Contract Aug. 10, 1918; No. 5437-P." Accompanied by two caps, handwritten name on interiors.
Accompanied by a trio of pins in rainbow ribbon. The first displays one large center star, the other displays two smaller stars, and the last is labeled on thin bars "Meuse-Arconne; Defensive Sector" over a dangling medallion depicting an armored angel on one side and the phrase "The Great War for Civilization" on the back.
Accompanied by a photograph of David G. Baillie Jr. in the field jacket. Displayed behind glass in an oval standing frame with etched foliage.
Condition: Pieces display well with expected wear. The jacket has small scattered moth holes and minor thread wear. The photograph's glass is discolored and the frame has scattered finish wear.
