Item Description
This finely carved Louis XVI style Bergere chair has a meticulously carved frame with an arched top rail complete with an openwork carved foliate form loop and two pine cone formed terminals over each shoulder. The seat rail features decoratively carved detail and the chair stands on foliate carved capitals over wonderfully turned and fluted legs. The chair with a loose seat cushion upholstered in the same geometrically decorated upholstery as the seat, seat back and arm pads.

Condition: There are some stained spots and wear to the upholstery which can mostly be seen in the lot photographs. The chair could certainly be re upholstered to likely cleaned and remain as is for its wonderful and classical design. There are also small nics and wear to the carved wooden frame but overall the chair is worthy of any restoration undertaken and does present nicely.
