Item Description
19th century Windle & Blyth brass postal scale displaying two trays flanking pierced columns, mounted to a medium-brown wood base on bun feet. The base features six graduating divots for weights ranging from four oz. to 1/4 oz. The larger tray is marked "Postal rates for letters" with corresponding measurements. The arms supporting the trays are labeled "Windle&Blyth; Warranted accurate; STS Trademark.
Condition: Displays well with expected wear. Tarnishing, surface scratches, and minor finish wear. Includes three 1/4 oz. weights, one of which does not have a divot. The 2 oz. weight does not fit into its divot perfectly, and the 1 oz. weight is a bit stubborn to remove. The accuracy of the scale has not been tested.
