Sterling silver Saratoga* chip scoop. This wonderful utensil was made by the Whiting company, and is the "Lily" pattern and was made with an open, ornate bowl and a curved patterned handle.
*In 1853, the kettle chip was invented by George Crum, in Saratoga, NY (which just happens to be the home of the Whiting Silver Co.) and was an instant hit and became a local staple. Whiting created the chip scoop to meet the local demand and to create a fashionable and utilitarian way to serve the chips!
