19th century Waterbury Clock Co. gingerbread mantle clock displaying in warm medium brown, decorated with cut scrolls, bands, and brackets. The top is adorned with a shell finial and delightful flower motifs, complimenting foliate designs near a beveled and banded rectangular base. A beveled, arched door with a faceted curve frames a glass pane decorated with a dragon and waving flag banners. A circular, cream dial features black roman numerals and geometric cross-decorated hands overlaying the Waterbury logo at the center. The pendulum displays a knight's head in profile, the medallions topped with pierced scrolls. Includes a winding key marked Waterbury Clock Co.
Condition: Displays well with light surface scratches and light finish wear to the wood. Small spots of finish loss to the dial with discoloration and craquelure that does not significantly detract from appearance. Tarnishing to metal components. The door is missing its hook latch. The movement has not been tested.
