Walter Meigs (American, 1918 - 1988) is an American artist with a focus on abstraction and collage. The current painting dated to 1970, is very much in line with his ouevre depicting abstract works with textural qualities.
The large abstract has two darker, impastoed areas which are on a flat white ground.
The large painting is powerful in its abstraction with little Naturalistic references.
Signed lower right and on reverse where it is also dated 1970, titled "La Boca".
Presented mounted in a brass finished wood frame.

Condition: Good overall, light wear to painted impasto areas but stable and presents really well.
