Item Description

Lot of [10] signed letters from broadcasting radio speakers and mostly sent to Dr. James Rowland Angell, President of Yale university in 1921-1937. The lot includes:
- Abraham Michael Rosenthal sent to Robert W. Fischer from the New York Times on March 23, 1994. Signed in blue pen, “AM Rosenthal.”
- Walter Winchell sent to “Bill” from New York Mirror on April 15, 1957. Signed in blue pen,“Walter”.
- Thomas B. Costain to G.S. Viereckfrom Lakeville, Conn. on July 9, 1948. Signed in blue pen, “TB Costain.”
- [2] piece set from Haywood Brown typed letter sent from NYC on November 11, 1930 to a fan, regarding sending a photograph autographed. Signed in fountain ink. Accompanied with signed black and white photograph laid on card stock featuring Brown dressed in a suit holding a painting standing beside flat files and a wall of hanging art. Signed below ‘To Seymour Halpern, from his friend Haywood Brown.’

- 5 letters addressed to Dr. James Rowland Angell include the following:

- [2] typed letters from war correspondent, Max Jordan on July 12 & October 15, 1945 regarding staying overseas, gathering material. Signed in black.
- George Parmly Day, Yale University Treasurer letterhead on April 6, 1921, personal stamped regarding bank matters. Signed.
- John F. Royal, Vice President of NBC sent on October 21, 1947 wishing the Yale president well after falling ill from his past visit in North Carolina. Signed in black.

Condition: In overall good condition with expected signs of age and wear including some toning and light creases. Later added handwriting in pencil on some of the letters but barely noticeable.
