Vintage Stowa purse watch in sliding action case fitted with crocodile leather for a cultured appearance.
The clock which is wound by its crown atop the lock. The watch face with Arabic numerals 12, 3, 6 & 9,
with a second, minute and hour hand. The clock face reads "Stowa" above the center and "17 RUBIS / ANTICHOC" below the center dial.
The gilt finished case marked underneath "US PAT. 2640668 / US PAT. 2719402".
When the two ends of the case are opened a metallic arm, folds out from the lower back to help the purse watch stand on its own.
A metallic loope is affixed to one end.
2"l x 1 3/8"w - closed
3"l - when opened.
clock face - 1" x 1" - approx.
Condition: The watch was wound and keeps time but could surely use a refurbishment with a specialist for regular use. The case with its crocodile leather shows wear and could use a cleaning and refurbishment if so desired. Overall a lovely vintage purse watch.
