Vice President Richard Nixon handwritten and signed "thank you" letter dated December 28, 1959. On official "Office of the Vice President" stationary and accompanied with original envelope bearing Nixon's frank mark.
The letter reads:
"December 28, 1959, Dear Ben C., It was certainly a most pleasant surprise to receive the beautiful memento of your wedding which you sent. Your thoughtfulness and kindness in this connection were characteristic of your friendships and I can assure you this is something which I shall treasure in the years to come. As you know, political events have been moving along at a fast pace here, yet I hope that someday soon I may be able to get down your way for a visit. In the meantime, my warm personal regards as always and best wishes for 1960. Sincerely, Charlie."
The envelope is addressed to Mr. Ben C. Toledano of New Orleans.
Condition: paper with toning; letter having centralized crease, gently cared for.
