Sterling silver footed tray. This beautiful round tray is a hand wrought, hand hammered petal form, footed, and is a very rare Special Hand Work piece created by Tiffany & Co. in or about 1922.
In the early 20th century, perhaps to be more competitive with Chicago's Arts and Crafts movement, Tiffany produced their own line of hand raised and hammered silver, called "Special Hand Work". Usually the items were one offs (rarely duplicated) and all were of beautiful hand craftsmanship and weight.
