This gorgeous antique 18th century English Queen Anne Oak Highboy chest of drawers does have some condition issues but is a gorgeous piece of antique furniture that is certainly worth the restorations and investment. Having a lovely aged patina to the antique oak structure, the highboy is composed of two sections. The upper chest section has two short drawers over three long drawers. All with brass key escutcheons and swing handles. The top chest sits on a lower section with two short square form drawers flanking a central drawer and stand on four wonderful tapered supports with pad form feet. The overall presentation is nothing short of gorgeous.
The back of is incredible and original. One large single piece on top solid panel, 1/4” thick oak.
There is no key present.

Conditon: The finish is original, one leg was RE glued and not overly loose but was repaired. Like all period furniture the legs could always stand to be tightened but are in working order. There are chips and nics to the frame which can be seen in the lot images. Again, the joinery could stand to be tightened for further support. There are seam splits to the interior drawers and the back panel is warped as seen in the images. Support plywood had not yet been invented. This area could be repaired and restored in the right hands to brace the back from further buckling, a condition issue commensurate with age. All condition issues could be restored or braced and when placed against a wall has a stunning presentation.
