An antique Connecticut blanket chest circa 1800-20, well constructed in warm orange-brown pine. The chest features a unique design with classic Federal and Chippendale appeal, made with a hinged lid at the top over a facade of three graduating faux drawers each adorned with brass swing handles, batwing plaques, and matching faux key escutcheons. Raised over sturdy bracket feet with an elegantly scalloped apron. The chest features a spacious interior with a raised compartment to the left side.
Condition
A handsome piece with wear commensurate with age and use. One of the nails has come loose to the top and needs to be re-secured and refurbished for use. Surface scratches, scuffs, nics, and finish wear, along with some checking most notably to the left lid interior.
