Item Description
One is wonderfully carved on four squared legs with squared, tapered feet. Stretcher supports connect the legs for support. Above the seat rail are the wonderfully upholstered seat cushions which feature an elegant striped pattern. The fabulous seat backs in the form of a shield with its serpentine top rail and marvelously carved, openwork back splat. The back splat with carved ribbon and swag motif.
The second associated chair of similar form with a matching seat cushion. The fabulous shield back features a back splat with carved plume and intricate openwork decoration.
Condition: The stain hue is different between the two chairs and could be embraced and placed in different spots or enjoyed as is or the pair could be re stained with matching stain. Otherwise there is minimal wear to the chair frames and only very minor wear to the seat cushions. Despite all, the pair presents handsomely.
