Two 19th century mahogany tea caddies. The largest with a figured mahogany top which opens to reveal a divided tray that lifts out for additional storage. With brass fittings, the latch plate marked 'secure patent with a crown makers mark above an 'r' and also an inlaid escutcheon. The case with contrasting string and vertical inlay to the bottom rim. The small tea caddy with a paper lined divided interior and with brass fittings and also an inlaid escutcheon.
Condition: Expected signs of use including checking, loss, dents, scratches, evidence of past repair, paper affixed to outer of largest. The divided tray insert has cracked and separated along the bottom panel, hinges are loose on the small caddy. All of which add to the old world aesthetic of these pieces.
