Item Description
Sister Mary Corita creates art she says starts "I start out without an idea." Often with Biblical verses which often don't correlate with the image itself.
The artist has "had more than seventy one-man shows. Her work may be seen in the Metropolitan Museum and The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., the Cincinnati Museum and in other museums and university collections of the United States, Canada and Europe."
The fabulous print depicts an abstracted image of 9 black crows on a plot of green grass surrounded within a larger yellow hued ground.
Titled lower left out of plate and signed and dated indistinctly lower right out of plate in ink.
Presented matted and framed in a brass finished frame and glazed.
Condition: Toning to the paper with a crease to the paper with wear throughout the seam split with losses to the color but does not appear to have a tear. Not examined out of frame. See lot images for further visual inspection as they are considered part of the overall condition report.
