This wonderful signed, John Moris, oil painting on canvas depicting a figural landscape in the style of master Impressionist Vincent Van Gogh.
The painting depicting a wonderful French landscape with a mountain ridge to the background with a landscape full of flowering trees with a stream that cuts through the landscape horizontally. Just behind the stream are two simple A frame houses. On the foreground side of the stream is a figure of a man, likely a farmer, seen with a straw hat and long white beard meandering through the landscape.
Every aspect of the painting, thematically and stylistically is representative of the late work of Vincent Van Gogh. A wonderful rendition of a work in the style of Vincent Van Gogh during his time in Arles and at St. Remy, with iit's heavily impastoed appearance and swirling imagery of his impressionistic plein air paintings.
Presented in a wonderful carved, gilt wood frame with an above gallery lamp with electrical cord.
