Item Description
Oil on canvas depicting a Dutch genre scene with three women resting on a stone wall beside stone steps nestled between buildings in a village. A fourth woman is walking down the stairs with a soulful look towards them, and the eyes of the women show their interest in gossiping, as the scene unfolds before the viewer. It is a very captivating scene, rendered in high detail, in tones of browns and grays. The figures accented with white and shade of red, which echo the red tiled roof of the building at the top of the painting.
Presented in a custom Dutch black with gold frame.

Illegibly signed "F." or "E." "Vande _____" lower right.
Cleaned and restored by owner, removing a previous wax lining and relined to current standards in the profession.
