Shauna Shane (American [CT], b. 1949) oil painting on board depicting an impressionist landscape with a brown pond surrounded by lush green foliage with blue shadows surrounding a white rocky edge towards the foreground. Beautifully rendered with energetic, expressive brushstrokes. Signed lower right.
Handsomely displayed with a linen liner and gilt fillet in a gilt banded frame with carved floral motifs around the corners.

About the Artist:
Shauna Shane is a Connecticut artist known for landscape, still life, and animal paintings. She studied at Lyme Academy of Fine Art, University of Connecticut, and Montana State University. Shane has exhibited at Oil Painters of America, Allied Artists of America, Salmagundi, and Knickerbocker Exhibits. Shane is a member of CT Pastel Society, Lyme Art Association, and CT Plein Air Society.

"I believe the artistic journey is like a musical instrument, taking time and practice to master. What people call talent is better described as a passion that gives a profound joy every moment the artist is deep inside the discovery of a beautiful scene. My own artistic life is dedicated to achieving the observational skills and nuance that makes communication through a simple well-placed brush stroke as beautiful and descriptive as a perfect word in a poem."
