Les Modes Parisiennes (Paris) was a monthly fashion magazine with fashion plates published from 1843-1875. Its chief artist was François-Claudius Compte-Calix, an established watercolour painter and illustrator of costume books. Included in this collection of four are plates #820, #824, #827 and #830.
The plates are custom framed in gilt composition frames with carvings and fine bead trim. The prints with custom matting with pastel linear decoration, covered with glass.

Sight: 7 3/8" W x 10 1/4" H
Frame: 14 1/4" W x 17 7/8" H x 1" D
Condition: age discoloration throughout the prints that does not detract from the overall charm and appeal of both the fine framing and subject matter. Minor losses to the gold around the edges of the frame.
