Artemus Ward, His Travels, published in 1865, by American humorist Charles Farrar Browne (under his pen name Artemus Ward) featuring humorous accounts of his lecture tours, particularly his famous satirical visit to Brigham Young and the Mormons in Utah Salt Lake City.
Artemus Ward His Book or, The Confessions and Experiences of a Showman: This was his first and very popular book, known for its humorous essays and a distinctive voice. It was a favorite of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln. Published 1862. Comes with a bookmark from Sotherby's auction as the other.
Artemus Ward in London and other papers. The book compiles Ward's observations from his travels in England, including his popular letters originally published in the British humor magazine Punch. Published in 1867.
Following Ward's death in 1867, a detailed account of the performance was published in 1869 titled Artemus Ward’s Panorama: (As Exhibited at the Egyptian Hall, London).
The work was edited by his executors, T.W. Robertson and E.P. Hingston. The book includes the full text of Ward's humorous monologues along with 34 wood-engraved reproductions of the original panorama illustrations.
The books with green leather boards (spine is now faded to tan) with marbleized panels, gold decoration, satin ribbon markers, marbleized end-wraps, illustrated in black and white with vellum, gilt upper margin. Comes with a bookmark from Sotherby's auction as shown.

Condition: spines faded to tan from original green, slight wear to top/bottom spine and ever so slightly to corners. Books are tight, square, clean with an occasional spot. His Book with penciled writing inside front fly page.
