A letter from the War Department, written from Washington, on April 24th, 1863.
The letter was written to Dr. Benjamin Morgan, Surgeon 1st District Vermont, to inform him that he was being appointed the Surgeon of the Board for the first congressional District of the State of Vermont, commencing the twenty fourth day of April, 1863.
Upon acceptance of the appointed position Benjamin Morgan was to report for duty to Montpelier, Vt.
