One of twelve etchings from the famed surrealist artist Salvador Dali in his self-created series titled “50 Years of Surrealism”. This series documents important moments and events in the artists life. This etching is titled “The Museum of Genius and Fancy” and in true Dali style the etching is interpreted by the beholder. Story behind etching included with each. “The text was hand set in Garamond type 24, and the 12 original etchings by Dali were printed on the presses of Ateliers Rigal and hand colored under the supervision of the artist. Albums made by Cartonnages Aldine in Paris. All the plates used for these albums have been cancelled. Printing was completed on December 6, 1974 by Atelers Rigal, France, at Fontenay-aux-Roses. Published by Transworld Art S.A. Fribourg, Switzerland”. Numbered A 77/ 195 and signed in pencil to bottom right. Raised Transworld Art stamp to bottom left.
Dimensions: 20” W x 26” H
Condition: kept in a sealed plastic covering with foam core board to keep paper straight, removed only for photography
