Displayed neatly matted in an ebonized frame with a silvered fillet.

About the Artist:
Rufino del Carmen Arellanes Tamayo was a Mexican artist known for figurative abstraction and surrealist paintings. He studied at Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas and at the Academy of Art at San Carlos. Feeling that he was not free to voice his own political views through his art, Tamayo moved to New York City. With the help of Mexican engineer Luis Remba, Tamayo developed a printing process called Mixografia that allowed for the prints to register the texture and volume of the original artworks. After a successful career, he would later move back to Mexico in 1959. His works are included in the collections of the Solomon R.Guggenheim Museum, the Phillips Collection, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Naples Museum of Art, and many others.

Good condition. Some wear around the rough edges of the handmade paper but overall in good form and presents well.
