Labeled in pencil on the mat below. Etching after a painting 1672-1675 by Jan de Baen. The brothers Johan and Cornelis de Witt, opponents of William of Orange, meeting their terrible fate in 1672 at the place of execution in the Hague. Text in Dutch below on the plate. Tacked to the mat, with loose tissue paper. An example of this rare etching is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
