Rodney Alan Greenblat is an American artist known for his "whimsical and engaging artwork".
By 1971, at the age of 11, Greenblat was given the opportunity to illustrate the cover of his elementary school parent teacher’s association handbook. This is said to have been the beginning of his love for art.
By the 1980's, Greenblat had moved to New York City and began creating his imaginative and colorful sculptures and paintings. During the 1980s, Greenblat had several one person shows at the Gracie Mansion Gallery and by 1985 another work of his “Ark of Triumph” sculpture was featured in the prestigious Whitney Museum Biennial exhibition.
During the first decade of the 21st century, Greenblat worked on advertising and illustration projects for well knon brands including Sony, Toyota, The New York Times and The New Yorker.

The current work is Greenblats imagination at work in a toaster inspired work with what he believes it may look like in the year 3076. The work features an image of a hand carved into a square form section of wood which is raised on a carved wood base. The object is completely covered with acrylic paint with stickers affixed representing a toaster with different items one could select. Another note states "Nutriscan Breakfast Absorbtion System NX3076"
There is a gallery label from the Gracie Mansion Gallery underfoot denoting the work is Rodney Alan Greenblat, "Toaster of 3076" acrylic on wood and the dimensions 14"H x 10"W x 9"D and it's year of creation, 1988.

Condition: Good overall with light wear to the acrylic finish but none detract from its colorful and well crafted presentation.
