Item Description
Seattle-based artist Robert Massa who creates sculptural clocks using traditional cabinetry and furniture-making techniques. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1980. He moved to Washington State in 1984 and worked as an Illustrator for eight years. He has been making fine art timepieces since 1990.
This hand-painted totem clock with a cabinet door lined with gold metal mesh opens to two glass shelves and a wood moon pendulum. An upper on/off side switch illuminates the top. The top with a sun face clock face is surmounted by a roof-like pediment with a bird weather-vane and a tree form hinge wand. The lower cabinet with a small drawer above another door that open to full storage. That door with a "hand" cutout flanked by decorative tree panels.
The clock is completely hand-painted with colorful geometric motifs. Signed limited edition of 30 lower left.
Dimensions: 10 1/2" W x 9 1/2" D x 84" H
Condition: Gentle wear to the finish including to the trim edges of the legs.
