American artist Robert Kipniss was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 1, 1931. He has become an award-winning American painter and printmaker with an impressive body of work.
Kipniss is an elected member of the National Academy of Design, New York, and his works can be found in more than 80 museums including The Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Detroit Institute of Arts along with the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts and more.
The current work is titled "Looking Through" and depicts a landscape with houses spaced out on a large landscape with trees of differing species specking the landscape. The artist has used a muted palette for this lithograph which gives it feeling. The image is devoid of figural imagery but the houses and man made structures allude to human intervention into the landscape.
Pencil signed out of plate to lower right corner and numbered 'artists proof 'v / xv' to lower right.
Presented matted, framed and glazed.
