Item Description
A Mid Century Painted Steel Abstract Sculpture by the fascinating multi-disciplinary Artist Richard Fishman. Mr. Fishman’s artistic career has spanned decades and is marked by various periods and materials. He has worked in Gold, Jade, Painting, Sculpture, Plaster, Prints and Collage to name a few. His current work features enormous elemental slabs of Elm wood in natural and treated surfaces. This Abstract Sculpture dates from 1971 and is a good indicator of his work at the time; Abstract steel sculptures painted in wildly colorful primaries of yellows, purples and, as in this piece, orange. His works are in several notable collections including The Jewish Museum, NYC, The Hirshhorn Museum Washington DC. And M.I.T. (Note: See attached photo dated 1971 from the artist which shows the proper positioning of the sculpture.)
Condition: some expected chips and losses to the paint (please see photos) which do not affect the exceptional presentation.
In the configuration that we photographed the Sculpture the dimensions are: 64” long by 18.5” deep by 38.5” high.
