Item Description
Possibly English. In a wonderful dark finish made in two parts. The upper cabinet with an overhanging top and a frieze with recessed panels, curved supports and a center high relief carved female mask. Carved leaf supports and center panel for the double doors with metal stylized bird form escutcheons and a key, opening to a single shelf. Each door has a relief carved male figure- a gentleman holding a rapier on the left and a soldier in armor with a spear on the right.
The lower cabinet has a carved overhanging top as well with a carved drawer with leaf motifs and a center metal flower and ring pull. Carved leafy supports and center door panel with metal bird form escutcheons for the doors (the left one faux) with a key. The doors with relief carvings- the left with a gentleman with a spear, the right with a solider in armor with a spear. The sides of both top and bottom cabinets with carved panels and carved leaf supports. Raised on a carved base with bun feet in front and block feet in back.
Dimensions: 60" high x 39" wide x 16 1/4" deep
Condition; Please review the detail photos. The entire cabinet has been refurbished to a fine finish with some repairs. There is a crack across the top and some expected worn holes on the top side panels and on the top right door. The metal is tarnished. A fine period piece and a practical size with an exceptional presentation.
