Remarkably rich original opaque watercolor painting, "Beethoven's House," circa 1924. This outstanding antique European watercolor composition features fantastic dark green leaves, well-dressed walkers, beautifully cobbled walkways, and a lovely home. When translated from German, the inscription of painting reads "Vienna Eroica House Where Beethoven Lived." Ludwig van Beethoven briefly resided here while composing Symphony No. 3 (or Sinfonia Eroica) in 1803. Watercolor paint may also contain gouache. Signed and dated by artist in lower right (difficult to read).

Condition: Paper of composition has a dramatic wave quality to it (not flat). Vintage frame has nicks and scratches throughout with some scuffs. Matte background has shows minor discoloration due to age. Painting well protected under glass. Backing of frame exposes top edge of paper. Artist info taped on front of glass. This is a gorgeous watercolor painting with very high color quality, presented in an appropriately vintage frame.
