Item Description
Herend Hungary hand-painted porcelain coffee service for six in the Queen Victoria (VBO) pattern, featuring bright floral sprays, butterflies, and gilt detailing. The set includes a coffee pot with lid, creamer, covered sugar bowl, and six cups with matching saucers The porcelain surfaces are richly decorated with multicolored peony blossoms, butterflies, and stylized leaves, accented with hand-applied 24K gilt trim along the rims, handles, and finials. The distinctive molded, scalloped edges and delicate ribbing highlight Herend’s attention to form as well as decoration.
The coffee pot and sugar bowl lids feature the signature orange fruit finial with leaf detail, a hallmark of the Queen Victoria design. Each piece bears the Herend blue shield mark, inscribed HEREND HUNGARY HANDPAINTED and numbered 4227/VBO, 4225/VBO

Condition: Excellent condition (showroom) throughout. The porcelain is bright and clean, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The paintwork is vibrant, and the gilding retains its original luster, showing only minor age-appropriate wear to some edges. This set was displayed rather than used.
Purchased in Hungary Ca. 1996 at the Herend factory.
