This piece displays a lavish hand-painted motif of vibrant butterflies, peonies, and flowering branches, all executed in rich, jewel-like enamels of magenta, lilac, green, turquoise, and yellow. The openwork border is delicately reticulated with stylized scroll and fan motifs with a scalloped edge, accented throughout in 24k gold, while the piece rests on four shell-form gilt decorated feet. The underside bears the Herend blue shield hallmark with crossed paintbrushes and HANDPAINTED inscription, along with the form number 1535/VBO.
