Item Description
"Ralph de Burgos is a naturalized American citizen who was born in Shanghai, China, the son of a Spanish father from the town of Burgos, Spain, and a French Mother." The artist and his family moved to Japan where he began his artistic and academic schooling. Following his tenure in Japan the artist moved to the United States where he continued his artistic education in New York City.
The current abstract work of art being offered for sale comes later in his career as the artist began painting realist works of art and later becoming influenced by Modern artists. His work became more abstract following encounters with mid century modern art.
The current painting is painted in a polychromatic palette with a vertical form in a variety of hues in short, angular segments against a warm, monochromatic ground.
Signed lower right and presented framed within a thin brass finished frame.
Condition: Some wear and tonal wear commensurate with dust and handling. There is some wear to the canvas in the impastoed areas along with splits to the frame in the corners which can be seen but overall a fabulous, large abstract that presents impressively well.
