Item Description
Thomas Moran (English/American, 1837-1926) was one of the most significant North-American painters of the nineteenth century. He falls under the categorization of second generation US landscape painters.
These artists continued with their predecessors whom infused their paintings with awe inspiring spiritual like naturalism, developed by pioneers such as Thomas Cole.
The current panting depicts two figures in the vast landscape with grass lands and boulders and a massive ky full of swirling clouds.
The figures include a man with hat portrayed pointing his walking staff up into the sky, aimed at an apparition which appears in the sky. His partner is portrayed scanning the horizon line with great intent.
The painting is presented matted and framed in a lovely carved and gilt finished frame and glazed with glass.

Condition: Good, there is a small section of what could be loss of painted finish near the boulder in a small inch long white streak but overall the painting and framing are impeccable and present fabulously. Wall ready.
