Hardbound and featuring gilt embossed lettering along the exterior spine and the front of the slipcase, the book has a full vellum binding, bound by Edwards of Halifax (see letter enclosed) with a double fore-edge painting of Bamborough Castle and Rye, and Grimsthorpe Castle and Woburn Abby, and figural drawings on the upper and lower boards.
Condition: With expected signs of use. Areas of loss, fading, and wear to the cover with wear to the spine. Evidence of separation from front cover to interior spine and wear to the slipcase. Toning and fading and some foxing to the pages. See photography.
