Pierre Letellier (French, 1928 - 2000) was a French artist known for his figural, still life and coastal landscape paintings. Pierre Letellier was born in Caen, France located near the scenic coast of Normandy in 1928 and is likely where he drew inspiration for coastal scenes. This particular painting depicts a classical French scene of a figure tending the landscape.
The painting depicts a woman dressed in a blue dress, white shirt and blue headdress tending the landscape with a metallic pail at her feet. With a fence around the landscape which the artist has masterfully painted in tan, earth tones with impasto to give the painting a three dimensionality.
Signed and possibly titled in French on the reverse to stretcher.
Presented in a gilt finished, carved wood frame.

Condition: Good overall, light wear to the painted finish with minute craquelure but stable and in good overall condition. Presents well.
