Paul Seignac (French, 1826-1904) oil on panel painting depicting a delightful genre style painting with an interior bedroom featuring a woman assisting a child to put on their socks.
The level of fine detail contained within the painting represents the impressive overall talent of the artist.
The interior bedroom is dimly lit with a window near the doorwell in the background on the right side which illuminates the upper right quadrant of the painting while the folded bedding on the bench in front of the couple displays wonderful play of light and shadow with intricate folded detail.

Presented in an ornately carved and gilt finished frame with interior fabric filet with gilt finished interior trim.
A plaque to the fabric filet denotes the painting title and artist name.
Condition: There are minute losses to the painted finish, in the body of the older womans dress with minor craquelure to the painted finish but overall the painting is in good form and presents exceptionally well.
The fabric filet has thread pulls and displays age related wear as well as wear to finish of the gilt finished frame but overall the painting presents exceptionally well.
