About the Artist:
Patrice Crommelin Longley is an American artist who discovered a passion for art from an early age, influenced by her grandfather Edwin Crawley, who excelled at drawing, as well as the work by Walt Disney. She attended Salem College in North Carolina, and went on to Yale School of Art. After graduating, marrying, and having three children, Longley began to experiment with various crafts such as scrimshaw, calligraphy, and egg painting; one egg being in the collection of the Smithsonian Institute and an illuminated picture of the White House with calligraphy on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
