Pair of Vanity Fair lithographs published by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son. depicting the "The Claimant's friend" & "The President of the Law Society" providing for a well suited duo of satire caricatures of the late 19th Century early 20th Century gentlemen. The President figure represents Mr. Thomas Rawle, from July 6, 1905, by Leslie Matthew 'Spy' Ward, British, (1851–1922), 1905. One is dated in the upper right corner, July 14, 1875 from the Vanity Fair Supplement, representing Mr. Guildford James Hiller Mainwaring-Ellerker Onslow, by Ape aka Carlo Pellegrini (Italian, 1839–1889) They are plate signed near the figure. Displayed beneath glass in matching mats & 2-toned frames that are wired.
Condition: With expected signs of age to the frames and lithographs including some toning and finish loss. Does not detract from imagery.
