Item Description
A beautiful pair of studio pottery vases, signed Andrew Hill and Hughes. The taller, from Hughes, comes in simple cylindrical form with a dramatic flared rim, finished in speckled blue with a fluted band accented with heart motifs at the front. The shorter, from Andrew Hill, displays a beautifully textured form with a gadrooned upper body tapering to a flat foot; finished with a teal glaze textured with iron oxide flecks. Signatures on undersides.
Provenance: From the lifetime collection of Barbara and Bob Allen, whose shared passion for art which began in the 1960s included ceramics, sculpture, and photography.
Condition: Both display well with light wear.
