Pair of Mid 20th Century prints depicting big cats including Donnald Kenneth Russell (aka Don) (American, 1925-2005) “Blackie” Lithograph and an untitled intaglio depicting the portrait of a cougar. Side angle of the cougar’s head is captured while his tongue is extended and running off the right corner of the paper. Background is left blank revealing the plate’s impression and natural markings. Framed beneath glass with a textile mat in cream, within a wood frame. “Blackie” depicts the majestic big cat probably cheetah, side profile, with foliage surrounding him, also blank background. A great specimen for Russell’s portfolio which consists of animal portraits. Signed bottom left and dated 1971 from the plate as well as in pencil. Framed beneath glass in an ebonized frame with gold trim and a black and yellow mat.
Condition: In good overall condition. Minor waving to paper but is to be expected with making process and age.
