A fine pair of Louis XVI style secrétaires à abattant and linen press. Showcasing beige brown stone tops over rich honeyed brown wood bodies with beaded and fluted corners flanking two stacked panels decorated after François Boucher (French, 1703-1770) "The Sleeping Shepherdess" and "Pastoral Subject." The reserves are surrounded by olive green spandrels with red floral sprays, detailed with beaded and gilt borders. The upper panels open to drop-front desks with hutches of drawers and compartments with gorgeous figured veneers. Lower panels open to a series of three dovetail drawers, raised over stout, tapered and fluted legs.
One cabinet is fitted as a desk with linen drawers in the lower portion, the other with linen drawers on both the top and bottom.

Beautiful and elegant pieces overall, with some wear commensurate with age and use. Past repairs and small chips to the stone tops. Light finish and veneer wear around the edges. Two keys included.
