Item Description
August Donnay (Belgium, 1862-1921) original lithograph - "Plate 59 Chant d'Ensemble" advertising the Concours International de Chant D'Ensemble (International Ensemble Singing Competition) in the Village of Liege on July 21 & 28, 1895. Published in the Les affiches étrangères illustrées, printed by Imprimerie Chaix in Paris, 1897. Plate signature to the right of the woman's foot. Paired with Maurice Denis - "Poster for the Newspaper, La Dépêche de Toulouse". Art nouveau style imagery and font for the text, plate signed near the center left side. Both have a plate impression lower right. Displayed beneath glass in slightly matching frames but differ by 1/4" in length, and both are wired.
Condition: With expected signs of age and wear including light marks to frame.
