Item Description
This wonderful pair of Asian, thickly potted, vases have been painted mirror black and have been potted in the archaistic Chinese "Zun" form. Chinese "Zun" form was developed in the neolithic Shang Dynasty and have been a commonly used form throughout the ages. The "Zun" form was first developed as a ritualistic wine vessel. This pair is a decorative take on the ancient form. They can be seen standing on a circular foot with a bulbous bulge to the central column which rises outward to a circular top. These wonderful archaistic formed ceramic vases Dimensions: 13"H x 11"W
Condition: There was a condition issue which was repaired and painted over on one of the pair. The repair does not match the exact color of the rest of the vessel and the section which has been repaired can be seen. There are also losses to the paint which was used to conceal the crack. This condition issue can be seen in the lot images. There are small areas of surface wear and minor chips which are representative of age and wear. The area of repair can be concealed by facing towards wall or re repaired if so desired.
