A striking pair of 19th century Qing Chinese porcelain bowls circa 1800, each beautifully hand-decorated with monochromatic blue scenes of figures in natural landscapes with flowering rockery, trees, and fences. Bowls are nicely rounded and raised on circular feet. Includes a highly decorative pair of carved and pierced wood stands with curved lobes an dramatically curled legs with floral scalloped stretchers. Previously retailed by B. Altman & Co., New York.
Condition
One bowl with old sticker residue to the interior of the bowl which could be washed. Slight wear to the glaze, wear commensurate with age and handling and but pair present very well. One stand has past repairs.
